May Fairyloot Unboxing: Unlikely Romances

I no longer have an active subscription of FairyLoot boxes. Not because I stopped liking them or because something went wrong but simply because the amount of unread books on my bookshelf is stressing me out. And adding a new wonderful exciting one every month was not helping me keep up with my TBR

That being said, when I saw the theme of May was Unlikely Romances I did not hesitate for a second. There is nothing I love more than a tragic, inconvenient or unlikely love story. The teaser told me I was to expect items inspired by Shatter Me, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, The Cruel Prince, The Wrath and The Dawn, Flame in the Mist, The Selection, Girls of Paper and Fire and A Court of Thorns and Roses. I live for most of these books so let’s see how this box turned out.

The first featured item was the beautiful Bamboo Travel Mug inspired by Ignite Me. I have not read this one but the design by @kdpletters is absolutely stunning. I was just about to buy a glass reusable coffee cup so when this beauty fell into my lap I was more than excited.

The next item is a beautiful Pencil Case designed by Literary Lifestyle Company. It is the perfect size to hold all your stationery, hair clips and secrets – I use it for my bullet journalling supplies. The featured quote is from a beautifully dark Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

‘Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love. It did not end well.’

Oooh, the Crown Keychain was an instant eye-catcher. I must admit, I already have so much fluffy stuff on my keys that another keychain is not an option. But an array of photo opportunities came immediately to mind with my cat as the main protagonist. Zelda, Queen of the Cat-Demons has a certain ring to it.

There is not one, but an entire set of FOUR magnetic bookmarks to be found in this box. Talk about value for your money. They are designed by @lexaarts_ and inspired by a beautiful and mysterious Asian fantasy Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. I loved this one last year and can’t wait to read the sequel.

Attention, there is a massive Tea Towel. But the art by @taratjah is so stunning I can’t see which madman would use this on their dirty dishes. There is a couple I don’t recognize, apparently from The Selection series. There is a thing for me to definitely check out.

It would not be a good FairyLoot box without a candle. And it is not an ordinary candle. It is a Starfall Candle inspired by our all-time favourite A Court of Thorns of Roses. The smell, the couple, the art. Thank you, Little Hearts Gifts.

You will also found the extremely useful Notepad with a beautiful quote, an exclusive sticker with one of the most popular couples out there and a funny Mint Tin. We all see ourselves in this one.

May Fairyloot unboxing The Beholder book pink

Book of the month is simply stunning. It is The Beholder by Anna Bright and it has one of the most beautiful covers I have seen in a while. I already designated a decorative role to it in my bookshelf.

It follows a story of Selah, who has waited her whole life for a happily ever after. But after an excruciatingly public rejection from her closest childhood friend, Selah’s stepmother suggests an unthinkable solution: Selah must set sail across the Atlantic, where a series of potential suitors awaits—and if she doesn’t come home engaged, she shouldn’t come home at all.
Big up for the female empowerment. This one should be a ride.

As always, there is a dear reader letter by the author, a print and a bookmark with the theme art.  If you want to get a box for yourself, check out FairyLoot here.
